Indiana police find 22 pounds of cocaine in sleeper during inspection

The drugs were valued at $400,000, according to police.

A statement from ISP said at about 3:50 p.m., a trooper stopped a tractor-trailer for a motor carrier inspection on I-70 near the 59 mile marker. The driver was identified as Jorge Bucio, 37, of Weatherford, Texas.

During the course of the inspection and conversation with Bucio, criminal indicators were detected, which raised the suspicion that illicit activity was occurring. The Plainfield Police Department's canine was called for assistance. A positive canine alert for the odor of illegal drugs led to the search of the tractor-trailer.

During the search, the trooper discovered about 22 pounds of cocaine located in the sleeper berth. 

Bucio was taken into custody and transported to the Hendricks County Jail where he is currently being detained. He was charged with dealing narcotics, a level 2 felony, and possession of narcotics, a level 3 felony.
