Jordan Carriers driver John Malayter, of Rogersville, Tenn., won the 2020 Overdrive/Red Eye Radio Trucker Talent Search competition, held in August. Part of the prize associated with the competition was a recording session at producer/engineer Jay Vernali's Jay's Place recording studio in Nashville. Scenes from that session underpin the video here for Malayter's original "Sunshine," which you'll hear.
The video also includes parts of Malayter's long talk with Overdrive Senior Editor Todd Dills about the session and his plans for the five tracks laid down, among others. That talk was published late last year in this edition of the Overdrive Radio podcast.
